Folk Name: “Gin Berry” "Gin plant"
Magical Folk Uses: Traditionally used for protection rituals; exorcism and cleansing. Juniper was the symbol of the Canaanites fertility goddess Ashera. Juniper is burned and used as incense provide protection from the evil eye, and maleficent people. Juniper is also used to in love drawing rituals; healing; sex magic; enhancement of masculine energy.
Medicinal Folk Uses: Traditionally used to aide digestion digestive and intestinal problems including liver and gallbladder conditions, intestinal pain, intestinal gas. Juniper is a powerful diuretic – a herb that increases the flow of urine, helping to cleanse the system of excess fluids and stimulating the kidneys.
Tea is made by steeping 2–3 teaspoons (10–15 grams) of the herb in 1 cup (250 ml) of hot water for ten to fifteen minutes.
