Magical Folk Uses: Used for protection; attracts material wealth, love, romance. Enhances psychic abilities and divination.
Medicinal Folk Uses: Traditionally used to cure or aid wide of range of infection such as upper respiratory tract infections including colds, influenza, swine flu, and pneumonia and other viral and bacterial infections; swelling of the brain (encephalitis); fever; boils; and sores. It is said to treat digestive disorders including pain and swelling (inflammation) of the small intestine and dysentery. Honeysuckle is also used for urinary disorders, headache, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer. Some people use it to promote sweating, as a laxative, to counteract poisoning, and for birth control.
Tea is made by steeping 2–3 teaspoons (10–15 grams) of the herb in 1 cup (250 ml) of hot water for ten to fifteen minutes. People can drink three or more cups per day.
